What do we do?
Advanced Speakers Online is a cozy little community of only 50 students, so you’ll never get lost in the crowd. You’ll join fun, engaging discussion groups with hand-crafted materials, and you’ll get personalized feedback on how you’re doing. It’s perfect if you’re a competent non-native English speaker (B2–C1) who wants to sound more fluent and think more confidently in English.

What does a discussion look like?
Warm-up
Ease into the discussion before diving into a pair and group activities.
Authentic Material
Discussions are usually based on a 4-7 minute video we watch twice as a group.
Vocabulary
Learn new words and phrases from the video to speak more clearly and naturally.
Listening Comprehension
Check your understanding of the important information in the video.
Discussion
Talk in pairs and share your ideas about the video’s main topic and key issues.
Speaking Activity
A guided speaking activity to explore new ideas and related topics with a different partner.
Group Activity
Work in a small group to complete a creative task, then share and compare results.
Error Correction
Fix grammar, vocabulary, or sentence mistakes the teacher noticed during your speaking activities.

About the Instructor
Hi, I’m Ian Polak-Kime.
I’m an American living in France, and I’ve been teaching English around the world since 2018. I hold a CELTA, a teaching certificate from Cambridge English.
After 8 years of teaching and learning languages, I created Advanced Speakers Online to offer the kind of experience I wished existed — for both students and teachers.
Speaking with a native speaker isn’t enough. You need an encouraging community, structure, clear goals, and someone who knows how to guide you.
Not everyone can move abroad to become fluent. I want this to be the next best thing.
Who is this for?
Upper-intermediate to advanced speakers (B2–C1). Motivated B1 learners welcome.
Is my English good enough?
If you can express your ideas in English, you’re ready. The instructor will choose students after Discovery Week.
How big are the groups?
We focus on speaking time and quality feedback. Each discussion has 6–8 participants.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No special preparation is required. A stable internet connection is appreciated, or 4G-5G network.
How do I continue after?
Enjoy the discussion? You’ll get a personal invite for next term with schedule options. Only 40 learners can join the Fall Term (October–December).
